Five practical ways to avoid plagiarism (beyond 'cite your sources')
Plagiarism isn't always deliberate — patchwriting, missing citations and over-paraphrasing trip up honest students all the time.
Keep a running reference list as you research, not at the end. Quote exactly when you use someone's words, and paraphrase by closing the source and writing from memory, then checking. Run an originality report before you submit.
When in doubt, cite. A reference never costs you marks; a missing one can cost you the whole assignment.
